electric fence

ASSUMING you have a 12-Volt battery-powered fence charger, a car battery would power it a HECK of a lot longer than one of those silly chinese "jump starters".

You WOULDN'T believe what the Amp-hour rating of the batteries in them is, compared to a car battery. PATHETIC.

I'm always leary about that chinese stuff.

Ironically, a buddy got me one of those jump packs that has a air comp built in, a cig lighter plug, and 2 loed 'work' lamps.

Well.. one of the led lamps died the moment i turne dit on.. but the other works!

I got the surprise of my life a while back when i went to start my 5000. I noticed the blinker on thefender running one night and went out and turned it off. Figure a horse or a cat got up there and hit the toggle. in any case.. when i went to start it it had that dead battery slow groan. rrrrer.. rrrer. I thought about that jump pack.. but then dismissed it as being probably useless. I slappe dit on anyway as i didn't feel like backing the 7610s and batwing mower out and swinging around to jump from there, if i didn't have to. Added the jump pack.. hit the key again.. reved just a little faster than before ( as i expected ).. but the darn thing started.

I don't know whether to chalk that up to a good working engine on my 5000 or the jump pack.. but it surely sounded to slow to me to start.. but she fird between the 4/5 rrrer.. amazingly enough... After that.. the 5 led charge indicator on the jump pack dropped down to 2 leds! guess it was all the electrons it had to spare!
