Electric gator for sale in my neighborhood... what's good or bad?

HI, just thought I would give you some personal experience of a electric gator. we have one on the farm for a couple years now.
Good things. its very quiet, absolutely no fuel problems like failed fuel pump, dirt in gas, stale fuel or any engine problems. no worries of a hot exhaust catching fire to a wheat field. can run it indoors with out exhaust fumes. if you want a half inch of movement forward or back the foot pedal allows it, very smooth.

Bad things. uses hydro. its like a cell phone. when you forget to plug it in to recharge it is the time you always need it. make sure if you are buying one it has new batteries in it. they are very expensive and you dont just replace one, you do them all. make sure the charger works, they are expensive and hard to get them repaired. I hate having mine charging over night when Im sleeping, its like leaving a battery on a charger overnite unattended.. fire hazard. it always seems like your cleaning terminals and battery acid off the machine. I have an electric and gas powered gator and they are both very handy. they get used every day sure beats walking and carrying stuff. I think you have to decide the job you want to use it for and make sure the batteries are like new. good luck

I believe they are 6 volt. and 130 bucks a piece. we are going to have to replace them. was quoted over a thousand bucks for the batteries. my father has the electric one. he puts it in the car garage every time to charge. mom uses it all the time. takes grand kids to the school bus, does her lawn with it. we took it for a crop tour and didnt make it back. had to push it. batteries arnt up to par.
I have a 2x4 gator gas and love it. wouldnt trade it for an electic one.

Strap on one of those little 1500W invertor generators for the long trips.
Slopping battery acid is from over filling, over charging and the wrong fill caps.
