Electric power steering on early SM.......anybody try it ??? Hydraulic pump was removed so was thinking electric.

Electric power steering units are pricey, most are rack and pinion which is not SM reality. Others are often for ATVs sized 1000 does not make it fit. A distributor pump, and a torque motor Charlyn motor might be more bolt on!! Jim

There are electric power steering units out there that are not integrated into the rack and pinion and function much like a Char-Lynn "torque generator".
The unit from a Saturn View car is popular for conversions.
All sorts of more electric power steering projects and info on the 'tube.
Lots of EPS project info has been posted here, as well, should be able to find it with the "Search" function.
