Electrical diagram

I recently switched my early 8n over to a 12 volt system And I found the reason why it wouldnt run was the ammeter wasn't working so I installed a volt meter but I want to make sure everything is wired correctly but I can't seem to find a diagram for a front mount distributor with a 3 wire alternator and a volt meter. Would anyone out there have one by chance? Thanks

From your PM I was working on it. We’ll see what this brings. I had located a front mount one wire with a voltmeter. I also found a Delco 10SI with an ammeter. I could have easily explained how to turn that one into a voltmeter layout fairly simply. I’m at work so won’t be back until this evening.

In this case the ammeter comes out and just turns into a solid wire. If there was multiple connections on the ammeter just move them over to the junction terminal. The volt meter simply gets fed power when the ignition is on and its opposite terminal grounds. It has to be fed full voltage from the switch before any resistors.

Thanks JMOR, And anyone else who took time to look at this
Our resident wiring illustrator that likes his crayon's also has diagrams to modify are use a new oem are aftermarket 6V harness to convert to most any application. I keep aftermarket wiring harness on the shelf I use then as a base to convert to most I work on. I like to wire one up as good as anyone and can put a nice touch to it as far and cost and time you cannot beat starting out with a inexpensive aftermarket harness. I prefer starting out with a late 8N harness on any N it has all the wires needed to make a neat conversion.
