My MF 65 wasn"t charging after doing some research I was going to see what if any voltage was being put out. Problem is every time I even tried to get close to the tractor with my VOM while it was running the display just started flashing random numbers. I didn"t even touch the probes to anything. This was on the distributor side. I could go to the other side and it didn"t act up.
Any ideas what is causing this? Is it the voltage regulator? I do believe it is bad. After trying all the things on this site I can"t get any better than 12.5 volts.

The electrical noise from the ignition and charging system are giving your digital meter a headache. (A COMMON occurrence.)

Simply use an analog meter.
