Hey friends I picked up a 1970 Ford 3000 gas and the wires are everywhere and no where! I'm going to just redo it. It's been rigged with an alternator. Does anybody have a wiring diagram showing me how to rewire it correctly? It has alot more electrical stuff than my 65 diesel. Any help would be very much appreciated. I've got all the wire and terminals to do it. Thanks.

Original wiring diagram for Ford 3000 with gas engine. You'll have to find correct wiring for the alternator.

Ray, I think you attached the wrong wiring diagram. I think that is for a Model T Ford. Only thing I can think of that has 4 plug wires off the coil (buzz box) that doesn't need an ECM (computer) Use the Edit feature to delete that one and attach the correct one.
Edit: Apparently that is not the “buzz box” type ignition.

I don't know how I did that, but I can't find the Ford 3000 tractor wiring diagram again. Everything I try fails.

Below is a link to the Ford Service manual for the 1965 - 1975 Ford Tractors including the 3000. There are several pages of wiring diagrams so you will need to determine the one that matches your tractor, then determine the modifications needed for whatever alternator you have on it now. It is a large file so you will have to downloaded to your computer or device. Or

And you can find pre-owned ones on eBay for reasonable prices.

I&T manual has them. Depends if it's B or C prefix on the serial no.
