Electrolysis

I'm doing electrolysis with a 10 battery charger. I know that it works best if you connect a battery in parallel with the battery charger. The only problem is that if left unattended and something happens that the part and electrode touch,shorting the battery, bad things could happen. I have a 330 mfd motor starting capacitor if I put that in parallel would that be enough filtration?

Why not use a simple inline automotive fuse . Any short will quickly blow that and render the installation safe .

I've been doing it for quite a while now, never used a battery. If it develops some kind of problem it will trip the circuit breaker in the charger.

I use a 5 amp battery charger, works great, no battery.
