Electronic Ignition installation Problem late model '51 8N

Just bought the Pertronix Ignitor for side mount, 4 cyl, 6 volt, positive ground.

I've been pulling my hair out because I can't get fire to the plugs, even with new wires, cap & rotor.
Do not have wire plug wires.

These little tractors are simple, yet so hard.

Has anyone else ever had this problem, and if so, what is the cure?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Old 8 Guy,
Here are the online instructions for 1244AP6. Are they the same as the paper in the box Instructions?

Install plate with ccw holes
Ground coil + terminal
Black connects to the supply wire that used to go to coil -
Black/white goes to coil - (all by itself)
1244AP6 primary curcuit needs to be 1.5 ohms minimum.

If never started, RFI is likely not to blame.
Suppression wire not mentioned, but non wire wires may be suppression??

Top left on the instructions has troubleshooting tips. Have you looked at/tried them?

I put one on a 8N with 6 volt system. It wouldn't fire till I let up on the starter, then it would start. Replaced the starter and that took care of the problem. Starter was dragging down the voltage to much and it won't fire. The Pertronix system needs X amount of volts to work. I don't remember how many volts it takes.

You don't have "fire" to the plugs? First question is how are you checking for spark? Do you have spark coming out of the coil? Do you have power from the ignition switch to the coil?

Respectfully, doesnt the 1244AP6 interupt/switch the power to the coil?
( instead of ground )
The black Pertronix wire connects to the ignition swich, and black /white goes to coil-.
Not certain, but may see a lower than battery voltage amount when coil is charging, then no volts when magnet sleeve "opens the points".
