electronic ignition model 60

I have had a Genese brand eletronic ignition on my JD 60 for almost 10 years. It is 12 volt positive ground. I am converting to an alternator, so I plan to hook it up negative ground. Can I reverse the wires from the electronic ignition and coil to negative ground or do I need a new unit? Thanks.

Some could be hooked either way.

I have one on my JD A which is 12V, negative ground. I think you have to have the correct unit, not convertible.

I have 2 EIs from Gennesse and have found them very knowledgeable. I would check with them on converting this.

Sorry, but hard to understand why you went to E.I. Likely you will have to change your unit to Neg, grnd. More $$$ I have had my '60 since 1971 and have spent 'maybe' $60 on points, cap etc. Runs near perfect still.
