electronic ignition question

Hi all, I bought an electronic ignition from Steiner (only because I had a coupon thing otherwise I would have bought from here) it's for my Oliver 77. In the description it says for counterclockwise spin but the 77s are clockwise. I checked with the distributor numbers it gave that it would work which is 1111702 and 1111750. Mine is the first number, 1111702. I should clarify that I realized this after I ordered it and it has not come yet. So it ought to work right? I called Steiner and they said that it should work but it just seems weird that it says for counterclockwise. I guess I can always return it.


I just went to yesterday's character and looked at the original number from the company that makes it and apparently the one yesterday's tractor sells is also meant to go in counterclockwise so I think it might be okay.
 
I wouldn't think it would matter which way electricity is traveling would it? Maybe I'm thinking wrong. After all, it is electricity. Not my strong suit.

Probably a dumb question but I take it this is a complete distributor with the conversion in it and not a kit to just remove your points and convert your distributor to EI? When you get it hold the drive end still and turn the rotor mount piece/shaft the direction that the distributor will turn. The rotor or its mounting shaft should turn that direction a bit against spring pressure. When it is released it should spring back. This will check if the mechanical advance is set up to work in the direction the distributor turns.
Just FYI, when you start a new thread just use the default “Discussion” tab even if you are actually asking a question. Nobody uses the “response” portion of that “question style” of a thread as intended, mostly because the instructions have to be looked up elsewhere and they are somewhat ambiguous. I suppose it doesn’t change things much when viewed on a PC but on a phone it places the response space with a zero in it below each reply, it is sort of annoying in my opinion.

It is just the EI. Same distributor that was in it
