engine block repair jb weld

You mean to let it harden up a little ? sure , but then you gotta work fast !! Some types are thicker right out of the tube , you might try them. .

theres a "jb quick" formula that sets up faster. if i have a situation where it could "run" on me, i use duct tape and remove it once its set up. trying to use a little more hardner to get a quicker set-up time usually doesnt work well for me.

Working with fiberglas gel-coat runs too. A trick I learned is to put some on and then cover it with a piece of clear plastic wrap. You can use a credit card to form it the way you like without getting all sticky. Just gently squeegy the glue around and smooth it the way you want. When it dries, the plastic peels right off.

(quoted from post at 17:03:26 02/24/15) It seems to be runny not staying in v groove . Can i let sit a
while before appling

Permatex loc-weld basically the same thang sets up in 5 min... Its my go to pucky... When its cold they all take longer I don't have time for JB hot are cold... I do like the tape I.D. 8)

I'm for Loc Weld only as well. Once it starts to stiffen up a little and it doesn't take but a few minutes, you can moisten your fingers and push it around to suit the job.
