Engine break in, update

Well, I bolted up the rebuilt TO-20 engine, got the radiator on, gas tank, battery and went to start it. Oil pressure stayed at zero so I shut it down immediately. I decided to pull the oil pan and prime the oil pump. As it turns out the oil pan screen was installed upside down, there by blocking the intake tube. The shop told me they started it before I picked it up. Hopefully they didnt run it more than a few seconds. When I started it again, the oil pressure jumped up to about 30psi then settled down to 20psi. My other complaint is the shop used gasket seal on everything including the oil pan filter lid. Now I need a new oil pan gasket.

i dont like that situation. if it was me i would be going right back there and have them pull some rods caps at least and even mains to check on damage. 30 seconds with out oil is a problem and will make a problem. and as for gasket seal permatex high tack gasket sealer is the thing to use. seals good, and easy to remove the gasket and part from the gasket. the only thing i have used all my life.
