Hi. I have a 540 Utility tractor with engine code 341S06184 (0 could be O). Is it possible to determine manufacture date? I know it is early 60s from a parts order back in 2011. The steering cylinder parts breakdown listed it as prior to sn 8262800 (1/60-12/64).

Hello John welcome to YT! Shame on these Case guys not giving you a proper hello. Looks like you got a nice little machine there, gave her a new sheen! I am not sure if the engine number has any relation to the tractor serial number on a Case. On some IH letter series tractors there is a rough separation between the serial number and engine number of 10 or 11,000, but nothing set in stone says that was followed exactly. This of course has nothing to do with a Case. Maybe a Case guy will chime in and at least tell you if there are any possibilities.
 
Thanks. The shiny photo was 2011 after I refurbished it. The faded are present day after being parked for years. I'm getting her back in service now.
