Hi folks, I have a 1954 TEA20 and am not sure what
engine is in it. I know it's a Standard but not sure
what size. The oil filter slants to the rear. Does
this mean it's probably the 85mm bore engine? I put
in a link to my photobucket pics. Any help on the
engine ID would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe.

As has been told in the archives several times the TEA put the 85mm in at serial number 172501. If yours is that number or higher you can be fairly sure it has the 85mm. I understand there could have been a very few built after that with a 80mm upon special request. The serial number plate should be on top of the dash between the steering column and the hood.

Joe,
Your engine is getting unfiltered air into its engine. Do yourself a fat favour and get the oil bath air filter working. Happy tractoring.

Klaus.

Thanks Klaus! I realize the air tube is missing. I just bought the tractor a week or so ago. I've ordered a new Zenith carb and am going to make a new air tube out of stainless exhaust pipe. I have a friend at the muffler shop who is going to do this for me. The hoses are easy to get and I'll service the air cleaner at the same time.

that tractor looks like i have seen it before was it on ebay? you will love that machine when you put it to work like i love mine

Thank you John. No engine problems I'm aware of, the tractor works very well. I do need to find or fabricate an air intake tube. I have a new Zenith carb for it now too.

Do you have the info for tuning the carburettor and ignition, just let me know if you need it.
The intake tubes are available as are the rubber hoses and clips. If you can't find one, just email me direct so I can write back to you and tell you where the nearest stockist is...John
