Engine number and casting codes

I would like to know where to find the engine number and casting codes. I have registered my 8n and it ask for this info. thank you for your time.

Bruce, the 8N 249880 isn't that the serial number? Is the engine and serial number the same.

Yes, 249880 is the serial number. The block casting code is A 3-0 on that tractor.

The block w/ serial number 249,880 was cast on January 3, 1950.
