What number and type of engine oil for my 1937 case c model and about how many qts.???

Quoting D series Dealer's Service Manual: C series would be the same.
Capacity 1 3/4 U.S. Gallons
SAE 30 for summer or temperature above 90* F
SAE 20 between 32 and 90
SAE 10 between 10 and 32
SAE 10-W below 10
It might be a good idea to obtain an owner's manual.
