Engine oil recommendation

Amsoil here, as well, in the 8N. 30 PSI hot or cold. Not expensive when the alternative of increased wear is possible. And, extended drain intervals, due to how the oil is built. Use 90-140 (I think) in the gearbox/hydraulic/differential sump. No leaks and no water in the sump. Oil is crystal clear after three years ( over 400 Proofmeter hours). zuhnc

Zuh,
I just located my maintenance record (for a change) and see that I put Amsoil 75/110 in my Jubilee transmission and rear axle.
I've had Ams 75/110 in my '51 chev 3/4 ton 4-speed for 7 years as well.
I picked up some Amsoil 85/140 and will probably put it in my Chev trans to see how it feels about that.
My guess is that gear meshing will feel softer and be a little deeper sounding.:—)

Sounds like you're probably using 85/140.

Thanks for the replies. I decided to roll with the shell Rotella 15w40. Same as I'm running in my MF. It will keep it easier for future oil changes. I also was able to track down some other YT posts where this topic was covered that I hadn't come across originally. And most importantly, I wrote down what I used this time!
excellent choice.
