Engine petcock question

I installed a new petcock on the engine block of one of my VAC Cases. After tightening I opened the valve to make sure it worked, then after closing, I notice a little residual antifreeze on the threads of the petcock. It's not dripping steadily like the old one but you can see a little green halo on the rings. I thought this was likely fine but wanted to check, would you buy another in this case and start over?

I'm confused. The threads on the stem or the pipe threads in the block? Neither should lead when closed. A little around the stem when it's opened is OK. Whenever I put a new one in I'll put a dab of solder where the wings meet the stem. I've had a few that came loose at the crimp.

Correct- the threads on the stem. Sorry I wasn't more clear. It's like a little green halo at the base of them, so not actively dripping but I'll try some thread sealant
