Engine rotating tool

What is the part number for the tool that fits in the hole at the flywheel so you can use a wrench to turn the engine when timing etc. on new gen tractors?
Does it fit the four Cyl engines as well?
I think it fits all the way through to the xx60 series.
Am I supposed to be able to find it in the on line parts cat.?

They are not in the parts cat, you will have to see your dealer, they are in the servicegard cat. We have about 4 of these tools at work to cover all the different models.

The same tool that fits 4430s and the like works clear up through the new tractors - fits the 6090 and 6135 engines, etc. Mine is actually a Cummins rotation tool for B and C-series engines. It works for both. It has a sleeve and the gear rotates so if your ever happen to forget it it won't tear anything up. I'll get you a number off it and find the Service-Gard number for the Deere part as well.

My Blue-Point rotation tool is a YA9565, and I really like it. Deere part #JDE81-1 is their spring-loaded one that I don't really care for because in some situations it's a pain to push in on it while you're turning the engine. They spring it so it can't accidentally stay engaged. It's around $17 from Deere. JDE81-2 is the timing pin and it's around $5. JT07223A is a kit with the 3 most commonly used rotation tools and it's around $175. Those prices seem kind of low but I got them right out of the Service-Gard catalog, so they should be correct.

Look online. You might find a bargain. I'm not surprised the Blue-Point is that much, and that's really not terrible compared to what they used to be. I think mine was probably most of $50 and that was 12 or 13 years ago. I have the old style one they made before that didn't have the sleeve, and I always thought there was no way that I could ever forget to pull it out of the flywheel housing, until I forgot. It took about 1 or 2 seconds for the ring gear teeth on a Dodge Cummins flywheel to remove two teeth on my rotation tool. I can't even remember when I discovered that the same tool would work on Deeres, but it works like a charm. Mine has turned a lot of engines, lol. One thing I do like about the Blue Point vs. some of the Deere tools (the older non-spring-loaded ones) and even my earlier one that got ate is that it's 3/8" drive, which makes it real handy to use with my 36" 3/8 extension and a 3/8" universal joint. Even with a short-handled 3/8" ratchet, it's pretty easy to spin over a Deere 12.5.
