Getting ready to pull head. From suggestions I have received there is a good chance that a loose sleeve could be causing the noise I hear.
As this is the first time I have ever had to deal with sleeves some questions come to mind.
1. There must be a lip at the top of the sleeve that keeps one from driving the sleeve down too far?
2. If it is the sleeve causing the noise will it be loose enough to move up with the piston (head removed) as the engine is turned?
3. If it is not loose enough to come up with the piston can one tap on the bottom of the sleeve or will I have to remove the piston and acquire a removal tool to avoid damaging the sleeve?
Answers to questions that I have not thought to ask would be appreciated.
Thanks
Monty
