i Charles this is the same tractor we had a discussion about in April or May this year not long after I found the tractor - Have been in the process of building a better shed the past few months so haven't done a lot more to the tractor but certainly intend to when it cools off a bit more ! The dash had been badly dented so a mate found a replacement & cleaned up Ok ..just some primer on for the time being -Apparently these early models had a different brake actuator & the replacement linings fitted do not work properly..particularly in reverse !! -I have located a similar tractor & hope to salvage the correct brake shoes from that machine to solve the problem -Have also collected an original 6 V Generator so now have everything to bring it back to standard -Posted a link to see it running ..Worth a look ! All the best Mike ( Morrie )(reply to post at 16:31:49 12/15/19)
(quoted from post at 03:20:48 12/16/19) Beautiful piece of engineering far ahead of it's time !The forerunner of the spacer that was introduced in the Super spec Masseys of the 1970's 148-168-188 series etc that incorporated the spacer & by then live Hydraulics that the Epicyclic Gearbox was capable of - The second pic is of my tractor which is a 1948 Petrol 6 v still in very good condition - The Main Brake lever had seized up as the previous owner just left it in low range all the time - No harm done & both Hi-Lo now work perfectly
