Extreme Cold

-34F here before sunrise. They are calling it "extreme cold" and I would agree although thankfully, there is no wind. School buses were
cancelled in some parts due to the cold.
I won't be doing any flying today but did a little last week. Ended up kind of funny although didn't laugh at the time.

That's one I never thought of, driving and flying a drone at the same time. How fast can the drone fly to keep up if you're on a highway? Another interesting thing would be to fly near turkey buzzards.

Problem was there is nobody home. I could have phoned for help but being my usual self reliant self I decided a half mile walk would not hurt me and would help me remember to be more careful next time. Actually the drone has a "follow me" mode that will allow it to literally follow along as I drive. I just need to learn how to use it. At the temperatures we have here now I don't think it will happen for a while.
Top speed of the drone will vary depending if it has a head or tail wind but in beginner mode it is about 35 mph I think.

There is a big range in prices and features but I find all the features I need for less than $1000 Cdn. They were on sale for $850 back in late November but I see them listed for over $1000 on amazon lately so guess I got in on a good sale. It is the Autel XStar Premium. Includes a great camera and carrying case.
Everybody else is buying Phantoms but I had to be different.

I already had the Gopro camera but the drone came with its own already installed. So much easier as you have a first person view of what the camera is seeing right on your tablet or smart phone when you are flying. I guess you could mount a Gopro on a drone without a camera but I have no idea how. Plus you would have no adjustment for up and down view.
