Posted a messsage about 30 clutch not disengaging, put a new clutch on and tractor back to work. I couldn?t get right clearances on fingers on old clutch and finally moved on to a new one. Lot of work to pull and put back in. Anyways , I?m working on my other F-30 now that I got a year back. It?s a 1937. The engine is loose but extremely hard to crank over. Pulled the plugs and oiled up all the cylinders and oiled the valves up. No valves are stuck and still with the plugs out she?s a bear to crank over. Any thoughts? Main bearings? Here?s a pic of one I just finished up. It?s a 33

My w30 is hard to crank also. My rod journals were egg shaped. I set the clearance up as specified, but gets tight when crank is turned 90 degrees form tdc. or bdc.

need more info than that on the engine. the cyl's. might be all rusty from sitting so how can you crank over an engine like this.???just because they are oiled don't mean a thing. need to verify they are all free. cant be the brgs if the tractor was last run and was sitting. only way is if the oil pan is full of water and things are rusted up in there. plus there might be mud or a rats nest around the flywheel.

My 32 is a bear to crank also. The guy I got it from was pulling with it so I think he may have done some engine work on it. I added 6? to the hand crank, made it a lot easier to turn over
