I cannot get the lever in the cab to slow down or speed up the cylinder speed. Anything common I need to check first before enlisting a mechanic?

If there are no mechanical problems, could be that the VS pulleys just need a good cleaning and some lube. Friend of mine had the same issue on one he bought, but ran it several years that way(?). Relieve belt tension with a come-along- easier than unscrewing the long bolt. Hook one end to the drive axle, other end to the idler pulley.

I have no idea what the speed changer is on this thing. I have the manual but the pics are B & W and almost unviewable. I am starting to hate this thing.
