F2 thresher beater

The roar I heard before probably wasnt the variable speed for the pulley. Bearing was out on the thresher beater shaft right next to variable. Replaced that and found the beater wouldn't turn freely. Looked closer and have a chunk out of the end piece of the thresher beater. It's going to have to be repaired. Thought I might take it to a machine shop and have them replace the circular end piece.

Now, how do get that rascal out. Does the cylinder have to come out, or can that thing be taken out over the straw walkers?

See attached pages from the service manual.

Looks like it comes out the top when you remove the top plate from the feeder house.

Thank you. That helps immensely

I put a spike cylinder in to pull pea vines thru. Wondered if the thresher beater would come out if the the tailings cross auger was removed. Wish I had a service manual.
