F2 unloading auger

Went to unload the last hopper tonight and the auger wouldn't go out. Will raise about 4" and stop. Goes back down ok. Chain that moves the auger is tight but not super tight like it would be if the auger was binding. Acts like when one hose comes unhooked from the tractor and you try to raise the cylinder. Was after sundown and about 20 degrees with a stiff wind so just ran it in the shed for tonight. Any one got any thought on where to start? No hint of trouble before this.

Had a similar problem with a k2. I found that the bearings were binding in swivel. Took the auger off the combine , straitened the swivel and re-installed the bearings worked without any more problems. You could have a different problem but I had the exact symptoms.

Dry bearings were the problem. Soaked it with WD40 this morning and went back after dinner and soaked it again and worked the hyd back and forth and it soon moved . Poured oil on it while moving back and forth. Moves smooth now. It's funny that the bearings didn't complain before it wouldn't move. My hyd pump must not be strong as yours Garrett , cause I didn't break anything. thanks guy for the good advice.
