F20 pressure plate adjusting

I brought home another f20 the other day, and the clutch was stuck. (Mouse nest) So i pulled all out and disassembled and reassembled the pressure plate cleaning everything. I bench adjusted the pressure plate with the 13/16”/ 3 7/16” measurements out of the clutch book and all seemed ok untill i bolted the pressure plate back to the flywheel. The fingures pulled down almost all the way leaving no room for pedal disengagement. Im sure its something silly i over looked but thought id post this and get some opinions before i tear it apart again to help me know what to look for and save me some time.

The clutch is 11” with 9 springs. Thanks for any help.
 
Billyboy,samething happened to me for some reason,My clutch wasn't stuck and I just took apart to inspect.I put some flat washers behind the pressure plate and everthing was good.This has been years ago and everything is still good

No machining was done. The clutch disk was not replaced. It was still like new. I dont think its in backwards. The disk has the large cone deal on the one side that goes into the flywheel. (At least i assume thats right, thats how it came apart.)

I usually turn the pressure plate nuts as far as I can onto the pivot t bolts to gain as much pedal as possible.
Never had one too far to work yet. Talking about the slotted head round nuts recessed into the pressure plate.
 
Large dish goes to flywheel to keep grease from pilot bearing away from clutch disc.
Large cone with spline points toward to throw out bearing same side as the fingers.

Then mine is in the correct way.

I figured out also why the pressure plate was out of adjustment too. After you set the pressure plate to 13/16” from flat surface, you then have to Use .340” spacers between the flat surface and the friction surface to simulate the clutch disk and then you can set fingures to 3 7/16”. I missed the shim step. Thanks for all the help.
