Failed stress test bad.

Looks like i am in for a hospital stay after the test today. One doctor says go strait there, the other says wait for monday if you have no pain.I want to get things in order here first. So intend to wait as i need to dry out the basement and lock things up.My heart should last that long if i don't do anything.

i had two heart attacks a year ago two days apart never had the first pain just a burning sensation right in the middle of my chest .ignored it the first day for indegestion then it went away but returned the next day only about ten times worst had a blockage of 99% so dont just wait for pain.they affect everyone differently.

I failed a stress test last year. They said the test showed a heart problem. At 61 i feel pretty good, just tired. They did a heart cath and said i was fine.

I went through the same thing last Feb,they kept me in the hospital till i had heart bypass surgery,It time but I planted a crop last year and feel okay now best of luck

Well that sucks. Only thing they found out when I had mine was that despite popular belief,I really do have a heart. I know,I was as surprised as anybody.

(quoted from post at 07:34:43 02/11/12) Pain is the biggest indicator, don't hesitate if pain developes. Hang in there.

You are right, pain is good indicator, but you can have severe blockage without pain.
I had my left arm go kinda numb and got real nauseous. Wound up with 90% blockage and 2 stents. Never did have any chest pain.

Rick in Ohio --- I am glad to see someone else like me ---- I had pain one day -- almost enough to make me go to hospital (while driving) It left so I went ahead and worked the rest of that day. Next day I travel about 50 miles from home to do some traing and the pain came back --- I hurried thru the training --- As I felt that it had to be done (not too smart)Then drove myself to the hospital. The last thing I remember was that he said he was going to shock me. This was in Guymon Ok. 8 days later I wake up in Amarillo Texas -- Looked at blackboard on the wall with the nurses names and the date -- told my wife -- that calendar is WRONG!! She assured me it was right - I had an 8 day nap. Ended up with 3 stents - no open heart surgery. Dr in Amarillo asked me if I remembered ANYTHING when I showed up at hospital -- I said NO -- He then told me I was Basically Unresponsive when I showed up ---- Don"t Put things Off!!!!!!!

About ten years ago a lifetime friend of mine got up one morning with back pain. He had been cutting wood the day before and blamed it on that. Next day he drove from central NC to somewhere in VA. looking for tractor parts. The pain persisted but he didn't go to the doctor. I sure do miss that old boy.

The cath is sort of set for monday. My basement flooded thursday and i wanted to get everything stablized and barn doors locked before. If i had the test wensday they would have sent me then, but now most doctors are off for the weekend.

I new sooner or later i would have heart trouble as dad had trouble at about 40 years old.Made it another 36 yeqrs. Brother had one at 65 an they couldnt get bleeding stoed so died on operating table.Neighter new cholestrol numbers as that wasent done those years.I new mine was high but ignored it for years. Blockage finally showed up while walking over chiiseled field.Ignored it .Pain again while cranking dollies on trailer. Ignored it again.Few days later after lunch i pushed lawn mower about 100 feet an againpain--waited 2minutes or so an began to push it an imediately severe pain again.Waited minute an walked slowly to wife an car an to hospital.7 days later had 4 bypases completed-lost 23lb an was sent home. That was in 1995. I was very fortunate for beiing stuborn!! So do your self a favor an get to hospital .Have a catherization instead of stress test in my opinion as thats only way to be sure heart is plugged i was told. Also i had ups an downs about operation as my brother didnt make it however many changes have been made since i had my operation which looking back was pretty easy. Heck you sleep through it anyway.Alternative for ignoring is not so good!

Don't waste any time Larry. Your life is more important than anything else. I used to work a second job in a gas station. One evening I had a stranger walk up and ask me where he could buy some diesel fuel for his backhoe. We didn't sell diesel, so I directed him to the bulk oil distributer a few blocks away. He turned around toward his pickup, then stopped and looked at me like he was going to ask something else, then fell over in the parking lot. I gave him CPR for 45 minutes. (Ambulance was already tending to a car wreck) Got him to breath a couple times, but it was in vain. I don't think that man felt any pain - if he did, he didn't show it. I think his heart just stopped and he passed out from lack of blood to his brain. The autopsy people sent word to me saying they couldn't have saved him even if he'd been in the emergency room, but I think that's a standard statement that they make to keep you from feeling like a failure. . . Things happen fast - one minute that man was living, the next he was dead. My brother died the same way. Go get checked out - you'll be glad you did when it's over.

You know, my result was like yours. Im pretty sure I surprised most of the neighborhood that yes, I do have a heart and it works just fine.

Had a heart attack 3 years ago. No family history but doc said my cholesterol was 650. Never had had it checked. I was getting ready to go to bed one night and had a sharp pain above my armpit and up my neck. Told my wife that I ust had a sharp pain and she looked at me and said your having a heart attack. I walked out of the room and came back in a few minutes later. Same pain and had to sit down. Broke out in a huge sweatgot up and sat in the floor. She called my brother and they lift me up and we drove to the hospital. Ended up at another hospital and from the 1st pain to the stint was only about 2 and a half hours. No problem since
