Farmall 100 questions

Hey guys I am an H owner and during Christmas my father in law has been visiting. We began to discuss his farmall 100 with cultivators. He lives in Florida and has a hard time finding info or parts for it. I have hooked him up with Steiner parts but I wanted to know, are farmall 100's rare or even desirable for collectors? I noticed only 17000 were made.

Any insight would be helpful. Is there a good contact for implements in Florida. This tractor doesn't have a fast hitch, what are the options for rear plows? Does a fast hitch for an a, b, or c fit on the 100?

Thanks

Parts for the 100 are easy to find, parts for the cultivators are harder and can take a lot of looking. The 100 was the first tractor of that line to have a fast hitch, the A and B did not have fast hitches, the one from a Super C will fit the C which did not come with a fast hitch. It is totally different from the 100 fast hitch. The 100 is suitable if the collector wants one. It is not particularly valuable.

I just bought a 100 this past summer that had a woods belly mower and cultivators with it. It took me a bit of time but I've since picked up a front mount blade and 2f mounted plow. Most implements that fit a super A also fit the 100 so if you look around the implements are out there. In ontario the going price for a fast hitch for the 100 goes between 3-400 dollars. If I was using the tractor to make a living with rather than for fun I'd consider getting the hitch but it's not exactly hard to mount any of the regular implements the way it is.

Tyler,

Some good info from CNKS. Any other questions just ask. I live in Alabama am I have 51 of the offset Farmall tractors (Cub, Super A, 100, 130, and 140). All but the Cub are variations of the 100 so parts and implements interchange. I also have plenty of implements for all of them. I've got (3) 100s right now. If he wants, he can call me and I would be happy to answer any questions he has regarding his tractor. He is also welcome to stop by an visit on his way back to Florida too. My email is [email protected] if you'd like to contact me further. Send me an email and I'll give my cell phone number that way. I'll be available to talk all week. Merry Christmas!

I don't know what part of FL. he lives in, but the January FL. Flywheelers Show is Jan.16-19 in FT. Meade. There will be several parts and implement sellers there. see www.floridaflywleersdot org

We have had a 100 since new in 1955. Still use it.
for implements we have snowplow / grader blade, flip
flop land plow, 2 bottom plow, wheel harrow, all
fast hitch, also have front cultivators, mott flail
knife mower and a 6 ft bush hog , both fast hitch.
Cultivators for the 100 fronts and rears are the
same as on a 140 and a Super A. the hydraulic pump
seal failed last year, got parts from IH dealer .
Been a good tractor, kept it greased up and service
it regularly.

100's are a lot harder to find than super A's.

Unfortunately "harder to find" doesn't always equate to "more valuable" in the antique tractor world.

In fact - it tends to mean nothing more than parts are also harder to find, and the PARTS are more valuable. And that usually doesn't work in your favor.

A tractor has to be VERY rare to start driving the the value up.

A 100's a great tractor for a large garden - but if you're looking for an investment, I'd look elsewhere.

This has been great info thanks. Does anyone know of a picture with a rear view or a Farmall 100 or super a hooked to a single bottom ih plow? We are about to hook it up. Thanks again!

Not sure what's different on a 100 -

On the super a - you turn the drawbar around and mount the plow to that - is that the same setup?

If so I'll see if I can dig up some pictures, but it's pretty self explanatory once you get things in place.
