Farmall 200

What is the proper method to check the level of the hydralic fluid of a Farmall 200?
I think it is referenced somehow by opening the fill bolt and then filling to some point. Need some good input. Thanks.

If you mean the fluid for the hydraulic lift you remove the fill plug(left side of resivour-under gas tank) and stick your little finger in the hole. If you can touch the fluid with the tip of your finger it"s full. Dave

I believe you also have to "lower" all of the lift points -- front & rear, before sticking your finger in the hole to check.

Dreamer: With hydraulic rockshafts in rear position, fill to the bottom of the fill plug. Before you replace the plug, start the tractor at low idle and work all the hydraulic controls full stroke several times, then re check the oil level again, with rockshafts in rear position. That includes fast hitch down if so equipped.
