Farmall 240 versus 200 engine

Hello, I am considering replacing my Farmall 200 engine with an engine from a Farmall 240. Will this work without any issues? I believe they are the same engine although the Farmall 240 is rated at an higher RPM. Thank you for any information you can provide.

I put an engine from a 240 into a Super C. You need to check the water pumps closely as I believe the 200 and the Super C use the "side" mounted pump, where the 240 had an engine mounted pump (99% sure). If the water pump locations are the same you will be good to go.If not, it will take some "engineering" to make everything work up front (radiator hoses, fan, etc...). It can be done but it may not be "factory". There are some very helpful archived posts on Super C engine swaps that may (or may not) apply in your case. I'm sure someone will weigh in that knows a bit more than me.

Agree with truckpuller it can be done but there are several obstacles water pump, lower water neck and the 240 has an extra hole , there are also more bolts in a 240 bolster so there will be empty holes when you get done .
