farmall 400 brakes

In December 2012, last month I bought a real nice
Farmall 400 from a forum member, just a great guy
and now that Deer season is over I've been itching
to start restoring it.
I figured I'd start with the brakes.
When I took the brake housing off on the right
side I could see that the oil seal was blown with
both disc soaked to the bone and now I'm down to
the inner brake plate and it doesn't seem to want
to be removed so at this point how do I replace
that seal?

You have to pry and wiggle at that inner plate, there are little pockets where you can stick something in as a lever. Once you get it loose it will pop right off easily.

good to hear that, I was thinking there was a lot more involved in changing that seal.

Found out why the seal went bad, the 1st bearing behind it had grenaded and cut the seal thank God the 2nd differential carrier bearing is ok.

Glad to hear that you got it apart. It sounds like a pretty easy fix once you get the new bearing and seal.

The question I have now is what would be the best seal and bearing replacement?, I can't seem to find the part numbers.
What is on the ripped seal is 50316 made in Mexico and the bearing that went bad is ST- 216
The other question is, there a automotive part vs. a heavy duty industrial part?
What I did find was a 450316 Timken seal and a 1213A
bearing, are those the right part numbers? and would they be heavy duty enough?
