I just came from a pull. (Rained out). Pulling 4mph x 5000 lb. 15.5x38 tires. Cut tires. 70 hp. Won't be enough. The class was mostly M's and 77,88's and D17's and WD 45's. One A and one G, rained the class out. But the same almost tractors pulled the 4 mph , 4500 class before. A, M or a D17 won. Both around 360 cu. inches or bigger. So I think you need 100 plus hp. Which means a stroker crank like 7" . 12 to 1 compression at least.
 
Bigger is always better. Look into what it would cost to go bigger versus trying to get by with just a 70 hp upgrade.
