Farmall 450 Hydraulic Problem???

I was using my Farmall 450 with a 12' batwing shredder. Our daily temps are nearly 100 still. After a couple hours of use, the tractor could not lift the batwings. I'm sure 1) there was plenty of oil in the hydraulic system and 2) the oil was hot. I let the tractor and shredder sit overnight and today it lifted fine. Weak hydraulic pump? Other problems? If it is the pump - where to get it rebuilt or another one? As always, thanks for your input. kelly

Well my Guess here with out proper system testing with a flow rater will be hyd pump . But this is a GUESS and i hate GUESSING i believe in TESTING before i tell someone that is the problem . A couple hours testing with the proper test equipment can save the customer big bucks . . Now as for where to get a NEW pump while i had my shop open i was a dealer for Hy Capacity . And had been for over 20 years . I have found that the parts they offered were top notch and never once did i have a warranty claim . With them being a dealer they would replace the part with out question and also pay me to replace it , can't say that about the others . Now today like all things prices have gone way up so that new pump for your 450 that i could sell for 275 now is a WEEEE bit higher not a rebuild but new direct fit . That DIRECT FIT is the BIGGIE not WILL FIT .

No there were REBUILD also but for a 125 less then NEW.
From what I see you are correct “there were” I don’t think rebuilt units are currently available. If someone finds one I am sure Kelly would appreciate a link or name of the sourcing company to add that option to his choices. When the gears wore the case out there was no kit available for the average or even above average person to rebuilt it.
