Farmall 560 power

a lot of work , but i am more after why??? them tractors had to have the differential brgs. beefed up just to use the 282 engine. that is a lot more torque with that 361. better keep it in the 806 where it belongs.
but u only asked a question so i gave my answer without more info from you.

Rustred , I want to play , no real work maybe rake hay and tractor rides . I have a 806 that is junk with a good engine just thinking

The engine will unbolt from the 806 and bolt straight into the 560's frame rails. Might have to drill holes in the frame rails but other than that... You could go so far as to roll the 806 rear end away and roll the 560 rear end into place and all the bolt holes will line right up. 806 starter, some wiring, and you'll have a running rolling chassis.

The only question in my mind is, if the splines on the clutch and pressure plate are the same. You might have a challenge there, or it might slide right together and run and drive...

You'll have to figure out wiring, cooling, fueling, instrumentation and engine controls. I'm not sure if the steering shaft will fit down along the 361, so it may be easier to swap out the wet bolster from the 806, mount the steering pump from the 806 under the fuel tank and attach to the stock steering wheel with the modified original shaft. 560 front end will bolt right up. Radiator shell/grille support should not be too much of a challenge to install.

You could style it like that 806 prototype...

Ah look real close here at the Axle housings and the Dash that is and 806 with 560 badges not a 560 with a 361 stuffed in it . As for the clutch and PPA that is the same . I have a 706 -806 clutch in my one friends S/MTA because the clutch for it would not lock up with the engine after the rebuild with the High altud. pistons and 450 head the cam and other little upgrades she would walk straight thru the clutch . SOOOOOOO we installed a 4 pad with the 706-806 PPa.

There is NO junk 806 and nothing that can't be fixed . Sorry myself i would FIX the 806 over doing and engine swap. As they never go as planed , ya solve one problem and three more come up and when your done ya have a cobbled up- mess . Yup in my 60 plus years we have BTDT about a dozen times tomany.

Yeah, I know. I just said you could style the "mutt" tractor that way.

Tractor vet you are possibly correct . But after the tree fell on it I don't really want to fix it

After looking at this real close this maybe
the way I go use 560 sheet metal modified
to fit the 806 and just replace the fuel
tank

Is it broke in half ?? the 806 i have now WAS broke in half from a wreck with a Truck , no i was not the owner at the time . I worked on a 1066 that was involved in a wreck with a loaded semi hauling coal WAY back in like 1973 when the tractor was new and it sat next to the guys barn for 25 plus years in four pieces and some one bought it and cobbled it back together and pawned it off at a auction where this other person bought it and they came to me to get the T/A replaced . Now that one turned in to a nightmare as every bolt twisted off , every gear and shaft in the whole drive line was scrap and a simple Clutch and T/A job that normally cost out the door at the time was around 15-1800 bucks when it left the shop the total bill was over 18 grand . BUT when done they had basically a brand new tractor and it is still running today. They just kept sayen FIX it . The only tractor that i will not try and fix is a barn burn and electrical fire over the engine or into the dash fine if it gets to the tires Nope
