Hi everyone - pretty knew here.

Ive seen many discussions regarding how light you can get a [b:b94b8a3361]Farmall 560[/b:b94b8a3361] and they're vague at best.

Any ideas how lite one would be with alum rad and saddle, no front bolster, and no cast steering column. Rear end top is original and using unverferth 16 x 38 steel wheel on rear with firestone 18.4 x 38, front axles is modified 300 utility with steel wheels and 6.50 x 16 tires. and C301 gas without factory breather. pretty much all weight is gone except for the rear topper.

5000#'s????

thx everyone

My old 560 puller weighed 4800 with me on it, at the time I was 150 Lbs, I wish I could still say that !! LOL
It had aluminum front end but, steel wheels, all steel weight brackets, 18.4-38 Goodrich on steel and any unecessary gears and shafts removed. There are some 560's running now with RD engines that are 300 lbs. heavier running the 4750 class.

I'd like to pull 4500... maybe a tall task. i'm asking for input because ill have to pay to scale it and trying to see how far i should go before i do.

IFM Puller - do you have an aluminum rear end cover?

The rear cover I had was steel and could have easily been 25 lbs. lighter, I had aluminum front axle with Pinto rack and pinion, aluminum frame rails, steering pedestal and the radiator cast section was replaces with an angle iron framework. I could have saved on the following as well, weld on hubs and shorten axles 80-100 lbs, disc brakes 50- 60 lbs. aluminum front rims 40 lbs. aluminum rear rims 150-200 lbs. going to a 400 center section will save 40 lbs. if rules allow, lighter steering shafts 10-20 lbs, aluminum weight brackets 50-75 lbs, foamed rear end 40 lbs. T.A. eliminate 40 lbs. getting rid of stock radiator going to a racing aluminum 25 lbs., rid of steel fan and cast water pump 15 lbs.
Being conservative at 500 lbs. would have brought my old tractor down to 4300 with a 150 lb. driver.
The RD engine is around 300 lbs. heavier and puts a RD 560 around 4600. I know some that are running 4750 with movable weight.
I hope this helps

I'd like to know myself...not sure I'm ready to delve into the world of fiberglass. Maybe no better time then the present :)
