Farmall 656 Gas

Just picked up a Farmall 656 gas. Wondering what octane to run in it. The guy I got it from said 89 octane. Seems to run fine on that. This tractor will not get hard duty at this point. I am in Minnesota if geographical location is important. I have dealt with diesels mostly in the past.

Just wondering if anyone has any input. Thank you in advance.

I think you could use 87 regular, the tractor vet will say 93, but choosing the midd grade is not bad. The lowest grade without spark knock is the most powerful and least expense. I would use a low (less than 1%) ash 15-40 oil. Jim

I put Stabil and some marvel Mystery oil in all my tractor gas. Use the low grade ethanol. No carb problems. As mentioned, I use the diesel grade 15-40 oil also.
