Farmall A casting codes

Does the transmission case on a Farmall straight A have a date code, or any other casting codes cast into it? If so where would they be located. I have a 1944 Farmall A, and I want to put a 1947 transmission into it, but I might swap the guts to keep the casting original to the tractor unless they have no codes in which case I would just do a complete swap. Next to your left foot when you are in the seat. Early ones may not have the code. Some of the very early ones were a different case. Internal parts do not all interchange. Check the part numbers.
