Farmall A steering

I am working on a steering box for a Farmall A - it is the later style keyed taped shaft with nut and cotter key. I am using a tie rod puller to pull it. I have heated it and quenched it while hot with penetrating oil but I can not get it to release. what is the trick? Thanks for the help. Keith

There is no trick just heat until it comes loose they can be fun

Tighten the puller to its max and give it a few raps with a hammer. The shaft being tapered, it needs only to move a fraction of an inch to come loose.

Mine was very tight too. Finally got the arm off using a purposely built puller. If you need a description of that, send e-mail.
