Farmall B engine block

Does anyone know of a used block that is not cracked or welded? I need one for a re-build. I have donated the tractor to our local museum and want it to be in good condition. Also, a foot plate (running board) that is whole with no holes.
Thanks

Most of these blocks that are cracked are behind the carb and can easily be repaired. If it's at the water jacket, and the crack can be vee'd out and repaired with many different products. I can't think of the name of the one. Liquid weld or something like that. Mix two parts and smear it on, grind it flat. If the crack runs across the top of the block between the cylinders, then you may as well find a new one.

Good luck is all I can tell you. Most purveyors of used parts will ask a price equal to value of your cojones or your first born. They think they have you by the short hairs and will attempt to milk you dry.

I'm looking for a good 123 block right now but I will junk the tractor out before I'll pay a war price for a block.

If the tractor is going to be a museum piece and a static display...I wouldn't worry about it.

I just posted a BN C113 block in Photo Ads. It is a good block with no cracks or welds. It may cost more to ship it depending on where you're located. I can take better pictures if you're interested.

Good Luck,
Greg

Cracks run across the top of the block between the cylinders and on the front left hand corner. Repair shop says will be to costly to repair.
Thanks
Stan
