Farmall B running/restarting issues

So this is what happening. I was up north at the cabin where there tractor is at for 3 days and this happened every day. Tractor is cold and I go to start it and she fires rite up so then I'll leave it run at 1/3 throttle for 5-8 minutes to warm up and she's running just fine.I give her a few throttle revs and all is good and working fine so I let it idle then shut it off come back 5 minutes and she does not start not even a pop!! I left it sit till the next morning go out there 1/2 throttle pull the choke and BAM she fires rite up runs good no issues. Shut it off after 5 mins and it's over wont restart.

Bad gas?? Makes no sense to me if it's ok cold but not warm??

Ignition issues? Pulled plug out and that really looked good. points/condenser??

Valves hanging up when it gets warm?? Had head completely redone winter of 2018/2019 and has ran good till now.

Am baffled could use some input

Shut off the fuel and let it die when shutting it off. to restart, turn on the fuel and go. never leave it with the fuel turned on.
You may also have a ignition issue that is robbing enough current on a hot start, that there is no spark. Starter motor dragging a little, small
battery cables (need to be 0 gauge, not 12v car replacement which are like 4 gauge). Jim

That would be the first place I would start too. Just thinking that maybe the float valve in carb might be leaking a little and enough to flood it sitting over night.

Dist or magneto? A bad condenser can do that.

This is not a over nite shutting the fuel off thing. I shut the fuel off when I am done for the day and let it run till it dies. This is after running for 5-10 mins and shutting it off to say lets eat lunch.I have been with this tractor for 38 years and we never shut the fuel off till we were done for the day. I have already tried shutting the fuel off after it will not restart and also draining the float bowl completely then cranking it over to clear out. Turn gas back on and try to start but it will not. Tractor cranks over with NO drag spins plenty fast I even tried to pop start with other tractor with no success. when I did pull the spark plug out to my surprise it was dry which I thought it would of been soaked with gas

A failing coil will do what you are describing. The cold coil makes good spark, as it warms (even 5 minutes) the wires
inside begin to short to each other. this causes heating and the spark might be enough to keep it running. Then when trying
to restart, the voltage (from cranking is low enough to not fire the plugs. Feel the coil when you shut it off, if it is
warmer than expected, replace it. Jim

there we go never thought about feeling the coil sounds like the best place to start and being that it is the original coil from 1945 chances are very good I would guess. I plowed with it last fall and was good till about half way through plowing the field she would spit once in a while as she got warmer and warmer. I will order some parts cause I'm not getting them up in the north woods. Thanks for the help

Can understand the buying parts where you can and not wanting to make the trip up to do some basic trouble shooting first!

I would still be interested in running it till it's good and warm the shut off for lunch again and if it don't fire right up I'd pull a plug or if you are bringing new ones hook wire to one of the new ones and crank it over while watching for spark. Actually might be worth checking before the first start to see how the spark is when cold and compare it to the hot crank start.

That way I would feel more comfortable with replacing coil, assuming the spark is weak or not there on the hot start attempt.

Follow up on this issue. I was plowing about 2 acers and was noticing the tractor running worse as i went on. Was doing the last furrow pulled the rope to drop the plow and she choked out. Checked to see if coil was hot I didn't think it was bad at all. We did pull a plug to check spark....seemed weak. Ordered points condenser rotor and new cap. Installed it all yesterday fired it up and noticed it ran way better already just idling. Got it good and warm and shut it off went back out 5 mins later fired rite up and did this a few times and all good. I'm thinking was condenser but all those parts really need to be replaced.
