BIL inherited a 1939 B, family tractor bought new by his grandpa in 1939 supposedly...I have no experience with this model....he went to get it and it is too wide for a normal trailer and the rears appear to be non-adjustable.....I have not seen it myself yet but was there a non-adjust B model? And can I get a manual on it somewhere?

thanks for any help.

thanks. How do you guys generally haul them...take the wheels/tires off? Our trailers are standard width, haul Ford N"s and my Jubilee no problem, but this B is too wide. Like I said, never messed with a B model before, but we are going to restore this one if we ever get it to the shop.

I haul my B on a car trailer. But it is 102 inches overall width. I think it gives me about 83 inches between the fenders.

Mine needs at least 79 inches between the fenders, or a deck over style trailer to haul it.

The width you need can vary depending on how you have the wheels set, and your tire size.

The wheels do not slide in and out on an axle, but the wheels can be dished in or out, and the rim placed in 4 positions on the wheels if I remember right. The fixed wheels, if they ever existed, is a new one on me.

If the need be, A person could drive the front on to a tilt trailer letting the rears straddle each side. Then use jacks to lift the rear and block the drawbar to the trailer. Chain down over each rear axle as per best practice in your state, Put flags on it and or permits if it is wider than permitted on the roads traveled. Reverse the process to remove! Jim

Reverse the rear wheels on the B just like you do on the Ford. I hauled a B on my trailer but the wheels were dished all the way in to the most narrow setting.

The rears are adjustable just take a good look at how the rims can be adjusted on the centers and the centers can be reversed also. Manuals are easy to find your dealer cn get one.

I hauled mine home (200 miles) with one wheel on the rail. Chained down it did not move. It would have taken half a day to move the wheels. I used the same method on a JD A and JD MT. Their wheels are adjustable but very very hard to move. Now I have modified my trailer to ramp onto the rail.

Thanks for all the ideas Farmall guys. This is Farmall country around here, or was when I was a kid for sure back in the cotton days, Ellis Co.
I spend many hours on an H planting and plowing for local farmers, later on a 560 which was a sweet tractor for sure. The little B and C models are really popping up everywhere these days, a real popular garden tractor.

I can send you a diagram from my Farmall "A" manual that shows how to set the different rear wheel widths. I'll email it to you, but I have to get the book out of my storage first. Sometime in the next 24 hours.
