Finally got to test out the new 60 year old hydraulics on my C, picked up a used hydraulic cylinder c/w hoses connected it up and awesome!
I don't know if anyone was following along with my project, anyways basically I took a junked Char-Lynn hydraulic pack and attached it to my Farmall C's pulley shaft. Refurbished the hydraulic pac and now it works great. The cylinder was from some old cultivator and has a 12 stroke and 4 dia barrel. So some where around 5 to 6000 lbs force at 800 psi hydraulic pressure. Effortless up/down pressure. Attached are before and after pictures.
Going to be a very useful add-on for this little tractor and as a bonus, the PTO is still available to use.
Picture shows the hydraulic lifting the tractor up a low idle. Just having some fun.
