Farmall C road gear

No. it is direct the only possible change in top speed would come from different ring and pinion set (I have no idea if there were any compatible sets from other applications), or putting taller tires on it. Jim

The H&M are direct, the A,B,C-up have a gear. But far as I know nothing is available, unless some of the later models road gears were changed, that I don't know. I doubt if anything is available to go, say 15 mph like the larger tractors. Someone can correct me.

Just how fast do you want to go you can get new gears made but you wont like the price to get more speed in 4th you will need two gears made just how fast do you want to go. At rated speed the 4th will run around 5 mph is your engine funning rated speed

Max road speed for a C would have been about 16 MPH. Later models like the 200 or 240 could approach 20 mph because of increased engine rpms. There were a number of different transmission arrangements for the middle gears, but I do not know about 4th.

Factory road speed for a C is a fraction over 10 MPH. H and M do 15 and 16 mph respectively.

Funny you should ask that. I was just looking at my C and Super C last night. Took my super C on a tractor ride last Saturday and noticed it is much faster than my C. Not sure if the gears are the same but the super has 2" taller tires and it made quite a difference in the speed. Still not near as fast as the Hs and Ms. Friend drove a MM Z and that ole tractor sure will cruse. Its a very nice tractor on a road ride. I imagine we avg about 8 to 10 mph and I had a blast.
