I recently got my Farmall C running again after sitting for about ten years. I removed the gas tank and had it steamed out as a little bit of old gas had dried up in it and turned to a grey putty like substance. I replaced the sediment bowl assembly with a new one from case IH, also the fuel line. Had the carb cleaned and rebuilt by a very good mechanic. The problem is it starts and runs great but if you run it at three fourth to full throttle it will only run about three minutes and then dies out, if you pull the choke on it will run about another minute. After sitting a minute or so it starts right up and will do the same thing all over again. I suspect the sediment bowl assembly I purchased is faulty because it will not shut the gas off completely and only turns about one and a half turns from fully closed to fully open. Should I be able to check this by opening the drain on the bottom of the carb and checking the gas flow? How much gas should run out in how much time? Sorry about the long post but I wanted to explain the problem completely!
