Farmall carburetor.

I have a 1935 farmall F20 with a zenith k series carburetor, I dissembled the carb. Cleaned and assembled it with new gaskets. Now I have gas coming out of the compensator jet. What did I do wrong? Thanks.

Not familiar with an F20 carb but found a diagram. My best guess is some crud worked it way into the float needle and seat and the needle when you jostled the line around reconnecting it. Now it is not sealing properly making the fuel level too high in the carb. Leave the fuel off and see if it will start. Run it until it stops from lack of fuel. Then open the gas valve and tap gently on the carb where the float needle it located. Hopefully when the float needle is pulled open by the dropped float the flow of the fuel will flush out the particle and it will seal when the float raises and closes it. Otherwise, it is pull back off time and recheck everything. Now again, no experience with this carbs and there is a slightly more than 50 percent chance that this applies. Good luck!

Thanks used red MN. I’ll give it a try. It’s going to be a while before I can get time to try that, but I’ll let you know if it works. Thanks Ron.
