Farmall Cub

I built a couple of stands and split the tractor when i replaced the rear seal in mine. Wasn"t much to it really. I never could get mine to stop leaking completely. Split the tractor a couple of times to try to figure it out. Finally asked an international mechanic he said you"ll never get it to seal completely the tolerances on old cubs ( mines a 47) are just to sloppy. So now I have a new seal and a slight leak works fine though. Good luck

The problem is that the original seals are not avialable and the ones that come under the original part number are a fraction undersize and will not stay in. There is a guy on the Farmallcub.com forum that uses the handle TST, that will rebuild your old retainer and machine it out for a different seal that will stop your leaking problem.

Put a new seal in a leaking 184 cub engine along with a speedy sleeve and its dry several years later. It takes a 3 inch sleeve to fit the crank shaft. Joe
