Farmall H Carb

I took the carb off of my H and noticed that someone had tried to disassemble the carb before I owned it. They stripped the screws oof making it impossible to get apart. I Have a carb off a M would this work on my H? Thanks

M won't work without changes. Carefully cut or drill the screw heads off and take the halves apart then remove the rest of the screws. Use a little heat on the casting when removing what is left if needed.

Unless the manifold is a aftermarket made to fit H through 350 it won't have the correct bolt pattern to bolt the carb on. Carb air inlet and air intake pipe are different sizes. Need to adapt. H throttle tube from carb to governor is a little long when used on the M sized carb. Some use them that way though.
If its a near stock H you will probably loose power in most RPM ranges. Low speed and luging anyway.

Use a die grinder and cut new straight slots in the screws.
Or send it to me, $75 core credit, and I will send you a restoration quality restored to as new condition throughout carb.

I used a dremel tool to cut slots in the screw heads and the used a square shaft screw driver and a wrench on the shaft to gently apply pressure. Also sometime it pays to give the screw a quick jerk to loosen it. Has always worked for me.
