I want to put the newer style PTO in my 1941 H. Is there anything I need to do other than unbolt the old one and bolt the new one in? I'm not sure if you need to take off the top plate to hook up anything or not.
 
Compare the two side by side and that should tell you what you need to know. I was thinking that there were three differnt ptos that they used in the farmall H
 
41 model would be over serial number 45613 so it will bolt in. Slide a pipe over shaft to help to hold when trying to stab forward end of PTO shaft in countershaft pilot bushing. Have PTO shifter disengaged so not trying to get splines lined up at the same time.
