Thanks to Steven F/Az, Rusty Farmall and Lynn Davis for your response to my H front end question. Its does appears to be a Factory front. Any idea as to the worth of the tractor. The tin looks fairly good, motor is stuck, one rim is all rusted out only one rear tires is good, front tires look like car snow tires, rims are good, all in all lots of rust. Just a ball park figure if you can.

$500 or less, depends where you are and how bad you want it. Stuck motor can be alot of $$$ but so are tires

If you are talking about a H with an IH factory wide front, maybe, 400 dollars, engine overhaul, rim, tires, & paint will cost close to a thousand in parts, not including any labor.I bought a H last fall with a narrow front, locked engine, real nice rims, tires about 30% with an M&W nine speed for $400.00 and I thought that was plenty high, but, I wanted the nine speed and to me the nine speed was worth $250.00 of the price. The engine was not locked real tight, so is gonna be a cheap one to get running, though.

Tractor as is 3 or 4 hundred if wide front is good take it off and sell it for $5 or 6 hundred. Everyone says they do not like to see old tractors parted out but then put price on them that will not cover cost of one good major part.

If the tractor is as rough as you describe, definately pull that wide front off and sell it alone. I'm guessing $400 to $600 just for the wide front. The rest of the tractor would be maybe $250 to $300 or less.

Front end is worth around $400 to $500 if it is in good shape.

I bought an H for $400 with stuck engine, had bad trans and rearend - bought another one with stuck engine and good trans/rearend and still ended up putting about $2000 in a major engine overhaul and other misc. parts to get it going.

Of course it depends on WHY the engine is stuck, both mine had water in the cylinders from rain through the exhaust pipe -- cracked blocks on both of them.
